Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan in India is most famous tourist place for its wonderful and splendid historic palaces and forts. It was once ruled by the Mughal emperors. It is also called as Pink City as most of the palaces here are attractively looking in pink color. The city was established by the king called Sawai Jai Singh who was belonged to Rajaputra dynasty. In ancient time nearby Amber had been the capital city of Rajaputra kingdom and after seeing abundant water facility in Jaipur, the King decided to transfer it as the capital of their province. The king employed a Bengal architect then called Vidhya Battacharya to design the city of Jaipur with marvellous palaces and widen streets. All magnificent!

I do appreciate the Jantar Mantar and how it was designed to observe the sky - and so precisely. I didn't know there was a Jal Mahal. And the building with mirrors - it's been copied by many other cultures.

I'm glad I am your fan - should you share any more beauty I'll get the email.

Ahhh, we need a dose of beauty every day. Better than prescription medicine!

Thanks a lot!

I have visited Jaipur thrice and have seen and studied all important sites and buildings of archetectural beauty.

the article is fine. But following points may be addded.

1. The photograph below the tittle 'city palace of Jaipur' is not of city palace, it is only the one-side exterior of Hawa Mahal described in this article. Hawa Mahal is so called because it has four stories inside and in the uppermost floor, wind blows fast. The exterior wall on the main road-side is having the contours only for attraction. Inside, it has ordinary plain wall.

2 There are museums in Jaipur-1) City palace built by Sawai Mansing II is most beautiful palace in the city and it houses a good museum.2)Hawa Mahal has an ordinary museum 3) Albert Hall houses a museum which is not maintained well but has some very good materials.

3 The present Jaipur city was built around 250 years ago.It had 9 main parts.

4 The Jantar Mantar is an extrordinary technical construction by Sawaii Jai singh-II and is still working perfectly well. Full-moon day, new-moon day, Length of the day time or night time all could be made even now. These time-measuring constructions are mentioned in our ancient scripts and some are invented by Sawai Jai SinghII himself.

5 Old capital Amer( or-Amber) is about 10 k.ms away from the present Jaipur.(The photo is seen in this article.A temple called 'Jagat -Shiromani Temple ' on the way to the temple is very beautiful

6 Decorating the interior of the roof of a room is called 'Shish-Mahal' and it is typical Rajasthani art.

7 Near Amber fort, there is a fine garden called -'Kanag Bhag' which is worth seeing.

HAPPY VISIT TO PINK CITY NEXT TIME!
