Chromotherapy, also called Color therapy, involves the use of different colors and different colored lights to heal many health problems. It is belived in Chromotherapy that whenever our part of body lacking in energy level is subject to a particular color or light, it can get refreshment and new power. It is experienced that diffrent colors have different powers to heal health problems. For eg. red color has power to increase blood circulation and white and blue are having tendency to cool down the blood. The yellow is reducing mascular pain and inflammation.

History of Chromotherapy

It is believed that this type of treatment is originated from Ayurvedic in India. The traditional form of chinese treatment is believing that each body organ is associated with each color. In ancient days Egyptians built special type of rooms called solariums which has pans of glass in various colors. The patient were given treatment by letting them under the sunlight in different colors. The different colored glasses were used to cure difffernt body complaints. In another method of chromotherapy, different colored bottles were used to fill water and kept in sunlight for some time. Water from a particular colored was used for the treatment.

 Different Chakras and Their Colors

Spiritual Science says that there are seven chakras are placed along the spine of our body. Each chakra is associated with particular organ or system of our body. Each chakra has its own color and if the colors become imbalanced, a lot of health problems arise in that particular body. Chromotherapy is based on this chakra concept.

Let us see seven chakras and their corresponding colors. First chakra is located at the base of spine. Red color is associated with this chakra which has power to inrease blood circulation and stimulate body and mind. The second chakra is lying in our pelvis area and its color is orange which has power to heal lungs problem and increase energy levels. The third one is placed near stomach area and it is associated with yellow which can stimulate nerves in our body. Fourth chakra is associated with heart and its color is green. And fifth one is lying on throat and connected with blue which will be helpful to come out of illnesses and throat problems. The lower part of our forehead is sixth chakra which is associated with indigo and this color is useful to alleviate many skin problems. Finally the seventh chakra is on the top of head and its color is violet.

This is interesting and informative. I was just reading that we should eat certain colored foods for our different chakras.

Then here in the US, a shower head has been invented which is supposed to offer some color therapy while you shower.

I've bookmarked your hub so I can return to it.

Thank you!
